After Hurricane Katrina hit, thousands in the Gulf Coast area lost their livelihood, but worst hit was the city of New Orleans. Not only was the city emptied of its residents, its music was silenced. But despite the hardship and tragedy experienced by many, we find a story of rebirth and hope in the Music Rising initiative, created to put instruments back in the hands of the musicians who lost it all. We follow inspired people such as U2’s The Edge, Willie Nelson, Arlo Guthrie and Canadian music producer Bob Ezrin, as they dedicate hours of hard work and goodwill to a community to help musicians thrive once again in this legendary city.
