Since its inception, Frantic Films has had a reputation for creating outstanding programming for a global audience. In addition to its success in Canada and the U.S., Frantic's award-winning series, features and documentaries have been sold to more than 180 countries worldwide.
From the long-running Gemini Award-winning lifestyle series Til Debt Do Us Part to the highly rated extreme science series Guinea Pig to the popular foodie series, Pitchin' In and The Opener, Frantic continues to produce high-quality, innovative programs in the factual and lifestyle world. Its programs have set numerous ratings records and established it as a leading producer and innovator for HGTV, Slice, Food, Discovery Channel, History Television, CBC, Global and CTV, among others.
In the realm of branded content and brand integration, Frantic is able to offer almost 20 years of experience collaborating with brands to tell stories. The team understands and can respond to the needs of a variety of stakeholders and funders while ensuring that above all, the right story is told to the right audience. Over the years, Frantic has developed and produced content for international brands such as Cadbury-Kraft, Coca-Cola and Huggies. The company’s portfolio includes everything from long format documentaries to short format series, on-line communities and websites, games, applications, books, installations and animation.
Frantic continues to expand into scripted programming, developing and producing new content for the international market. Television series and movies include Todd & The Book Of Pure Evil, Men with Brooms, Zeyda and the Hitman, Keep Your Head Up Kid: The Don Cherry Story, Wrath of Grapes: The Don Cherry Story Part II and fifteen one-hour stand-up comedy specials for prime time television. Feature Films include the award-winning Lucid and Faces in the Crowd starring Milla Jovovich.
In late 2008, Frantic acquired Toronto-based factual and lifestyle production company, Red Apple Entertainment, and in 2009, acquired the international rights to the 170-hour library of Vancouver-based The Eyes, bringing its total distribution library to over 580 hours. In 2013, Frantic Films sold its Manitoba commercial production operations to Frank Digital while retaining its expertise in branded content and brand integration.
